a light here required a shadow there.

about

Intuitive artist living in Lisbon, Portugal.
Born in 1980 in Poland, Joanna captures her inner world in images through the process of deep spontaneous creation. No planning, no preconceived ideas and no expectations about the end result - all this gives her the creative freedom and opens the door to the subconscious mind.

Fascinated by Carl Gustav Jung, Joanna creates her artistic world from this delicate space between consciousness and dream, between the rational mind and that deep space of feeling. By giving in to intuition, using mostly inks and acrylics in her work, Joanna gradually reveals her inner shadows.

Looking at her paintings, we can sense in them our own personal stories, grasp particles of the universal values, taste the lightness and heaviness of being.

As an international relations graduate, Joanna worked for many years in the international organisations. Few years ago she became a full time artist. She gained her artistic skills in Warsaw, Brussels and Lisbon, where she completed painting and drawing courses, among others at the Academie des Beaux Arts de Saint Josse in Brussels. Her work was influenced by artists-teachers in Brussels and Lisbon, which helped her find her own unique style.
